“My mother Patsy had a horseshoe hung over our front door for good luck. It was something that I grew up seeing every day and the principle of good fortune was ingrained in me. I have that same horseshoe currently hanging in my studio. I was inspired to design the Garland Horseshoe ring with her in mind. One day while experimenting with beaded bezel wire—which is usually used for other types of pieces, not just as a stand-alone piece—I was inspired to bend it into a horseshoe design. It’s my favorite LWJ piece. I never leave home without it on.”
